MEDICAL INFORMATION

The Repository personnel collect medical data on the registrants from medical records during their career at the Mayak PA till their death, from patient history (if the registrants were hospitalized in Ozersk). Autopsy protocols are analysed for the registrants of the autopsy tissues repository.

Each registrant is provided with the following information:

• Main diseases and pathological state from start of employment at the Mayak PA;
• Description of dynamics and outcomes of the diseases;
• In case of cancer – description of antineoplastic therapy (surgical procedure, radiation therapy, chemotherapy etc.);
• Effect of hazardous non-radiation factors (chemicals, hot shops, smoking, alcohol consumption, etc.);
• For autopsy tissues – verification of cause of death.

All registered diseases and causes of death are coded by ICD-9/ICD-10.
